Simply Be Gets Our Vote!

My sister and I are curvy ladies. Well, let me qualify that because there is curvy and then there is curvy. You see. We are heavy set from the chest down until you get to just before the hips. There, things start to narrow inward. I know we are not unique in that sense.

There are others like us. I see them every day. When shopping for clothes, we may need to get a size 22 to 24 top to go with a size 18 trouser or skirt. So to say it has been difficult at times to find suitable outfits is an understatement. This is compounded by the fact that some stores sell the same size matching outfits and not give buyers the chance to mix and match the sets.

So when the opportunity came to model outfits from Simply Be, we jumped at the chance. Here is our experience:

Dealing with Simply Be

The process from ordering to receiving the outfits was simple and easy. The simply Be website was so easy to use. There was no hassle at all. In fact, we had to make a change to two of the items when we received them and the replacements came in a timely manner and fitted perfectly.

Black skinny jeans, polka dot and floral flouncy top. Grey ankle boots and a sexy bra. You might think that polka dot and floral would not go well together but I have been seeing a lot of these styles lately and they are growing in likeability.

This is Leisa’s choice from Simply Be

Oxblood red trousers. Peach flouncy top with two-tiered sleeves. Brown ankle boots and sexy red and black bra.

We were both excited about our choices and were eager to really style them!

We had such a great time with the shoot! It was so much fun.

The clothes are comfortable, requires little ironing, are adaptable so can be styled with other pieces we already had in our wardrobe and most of all were super flattering.

The colours are quite vibrant and suitable for Spring/Summer. Just what I needed to brighten my mood too as we look forward to more sunshine.

Skinny jeans! We don’t usually wear skinny jeans. We have skinny legs, so we would usually opt for a more baggy look to disguise them. This time, we thought, what the heck, skinny or not, they are ours and they carry us around quite well.

We are now of the view that plus-sized women need to be bold in terms of fashion, bold, not daring as this is where I think a lot of plus-sized women make mistakes. It is often so difficult to find plus size clothes for women even though so many fashion brands in the UK claim to sell to suit this group. Yet it still remains difficult!

We know a thing or two about garment construction having worked in this industry in a previous life, so we decided to check out the sewing in terms of how neatly the seams and darts, etc were made up. To be honest, we couldn’t find a single fault. We give especially the darts top marks for construction techniques, They were just where they are needed to be to flatter the figure.
